Does anyone in here have recommendations for notebooks they like to write on? Or special papers? I recently bought some muji notebooks from japan that I absolutely love; writing on them is so smooth. Wondered if any of you here had expertise in that realm...

I'd also like to add Rhodia to that list.

I think sxl2004 might have meant to type Tomoe River paper. Goulet Pens has a notebook that uses that paper which is popular because it brings out certain properties of certain inks. For example, the ink Emerald of Chivor has a red sheen that only shows up on certain types of paper.

Some things to look out for in papers is texture, drying times, and bleed through. A fountain pen friendly paper shouldn't have too much bleed through though it may come at the cost of longer drying times.

Here's my Hamilton Khaki with a Lamy 2000. The 2000 has a rich history in design and would probably pair well with a Nomos. The tiny Lamy logo etched into the spring loaded pocket clip is the only branding you'll see. It's a piston filler and the screw cap for the piston mechanism blends almost seamlessly into the body of the pen.

Yes thanks: Tomoe River!
Damn autocorrect!😲
Rhodos and other coated papers work great for fountain pens, I just prefer the uncoated papers, which happen to be mostly from Japan 😁

Rhodos! Yay autocorrect hahaha. I'll have to try Japanese papers. I bet I'd like the change in feel.

Oh my! It is downhill from here!
Apica notebooks are quite affordable and Life are my favorite for an arm and a leg.

I’m a bit of a fan ... the Fountain has been with me longest and has been to the factory and back. The Tornado is a new favorite.
