Fritz, nice collection.
May I ask you something? The first Omega, on the black dial, has been repainted? It looks strange the 8 from this angle.

I think the crystal was smashed at some time in its past life, the 4 and the 8 are both damaged and there's some light scratches on the face that you need a loop to pick up on. Its a really nice dial even with the damage, the minute markers are in a metallic silver material that actually stand a bit proud, I'd love to know how they did it..

keeping in mind:I am Mister Crap Photographer!..... here's the best I could do. You can see some of the numerals have been well bruised, epecially the 4 and when the light is right the face has a few shallow scratches on its surface, but if you're not looking too closely it looks fine, helps if your not wearing your glasses. I don't think its a redial, and I'd just as soon not know....it was my first Omega wrist watch and I like it as it is.

Three historical pieces of superbly functional, acutely ergonomic, beautifully conceived design - Each 30 years apart.

1939 Zella-Mehlis, 'K Code', Walther PPK, 7.65mm ( Decommissioned )
1969 Omega Speedmaster 145.022
1999 Alfred Dunhill Solid Silver 'Torpedo' Ballpoint

Two of these items, I use on a daily basis, ........the third is a 'paperweight' in my study

Unfortunately "Matron" only allows us crayons 🙁
Our Matron took the crayons off us because we kept eating them. Blue was my favourite!

Dunhill pen & pencil

Hey, that is a cool Dunhill box: I have one a it like it and was going to post pictures of a pen and your posting gave me the urge to do so! This pen is particularly beautiful, being signed by the maker and also by the craftsman who executed the artwork on it.

I've got a question for fountain pen guys in particular, I've got embarrassingly bad handwriting, like if your child is 5 he's probably neater than me. I've heard people say switching to a fountain pen forced them to re-learn their writing technique and lead to some significant improvement, just wondering if any of you guys found that?

Not personally but on a recent visit to my doc I commented on his stunning fountain pen, admitted it was to improve on his handwriting as the fountain slowed him down.
Speaking to one of the girls in reception on my way out I mentioned docs fancy new pen, she reckons it is the best thing that happened to the practice, saves them hours having to continually go back to him checking what he has written.

I have a similar model - darker blues...

They are decent pens for the money. I don't really use mine anymore though (or the Montblanc Meisterstuck I have) - I don't actually write things down a lot, so I find the inks tend to dry up quickly from non-use.

Cheers, Al
