·Hi OF, I am new to this forum and just stumbled on it while searching vintage watches for sale. I inherited my dad's Omega Constellation many years ago when he passed away during my teenage years. It has always had great sentimental value to me, but I never wore it as I always liked larger watches. I recently had it serviced and bought an aftermarket strap and new-style Omega buckle for it. I have recently come to really appreciate vintage watches and I became intrigued with learning more about the Omega brand in general, and this watch in particular. I have read Desmond's dissertation and found it extremely informative. Sorry but I don't know the model number or any other information other than it is a C-cased Constellation plated in gold or maybe rose gold? It has a T Swiss Made T dial and I believe the dial and hands to be original. I found that if I charge the dial with a bright flashlight, the hour plots and hands glow brightly for a minute or two. Is this normal for old tritium to still glow like this? I know that some of the tritium used on Rolex's from the 60's also glows for a short period of time. I would love to hear comments about this as it has me questioning the originality of the dial and hands.
Also, just to make sure I am setting the date correctly (it does have the quickset date), is the correct method to pull the crown out to its terminal position and then push it in, repeat out/in until it advances to the correct date?
Any more insight you guys can provide will be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.
Regards...Brad
