Hi Omega fanatics, https://imgur.com/a/MCAoSvo Can someone please help me figuring out what the reference number of this Omega is? My best guess is an Omega constellation gold plated with reference number 168.0(0)27? I would love to know more about this watch as I may be going to buy it from someone secondhand. The seller knows very little about it as it was his grandfathers watch which he inherited. Sorry if my English is quite poor, I'm also just a simple dude from the Netherlands who likes to know more about Vintage Omega watches.
Hi, thanks, but these are the only pictures i have from the seller. He doesn’t know much about it because he inherited it and simply wants to sell it.
Well we can't figure it out without a look at the caseback and movement..As far as I can tell, it appears original though perhaps over polished, there seems a small lack of symmetry..but it might be the photo angle
I understand, however if I had these pictures I would have obviously knowns the serial number already . Was only hoping for the someone to identify it for me without this information.
I am not an expert but here are my thoughts. The dial looks average to poor, the watch and bracelet appear to be gold capped, the bracelet may not be correct, no movement pic is a problem, the case shape is not the most desirable, and there may be other issues. I am not sure about the market but if the watch is all correct and in decent shape to me it is maybe a $1,000 piece. JMHO.
Seems to me its a 168.029 with cal 751, nice knurled bezel. Sold it last month for $500 if that helps, yours is a little nicer as it isnt overpolished, and has the brick bracelet with gold plating rather intact. Both pros add to the value. Id say 750-800 would be a nice price as long as movement is intact
A 751 is a day date, the OP's watch should have a 564 date movement - most likely a 168.009 / 168.0017 but we won't know for sure until we see the inside of the case back. http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.sg/2008/12/constellation-c-shape-omegas-child-of.html
I thought the 561's had the smooth bezels & the 564's had the knurled bezels, but with Omega, you'd never know. There's always the chance of "transitional" models.
