Good day OFers, for sale is a Lemania British Royal Navy HS9 in a 1st generation monopusher case.

    IMG_20180517_152157~01.jpg

    - Original 38mm stainless steel case in good, likely unpolished condition with various small marks. Small dent at bezel at ard 43 minutes. Caseback inscribed with HS9 that has been crossed out and replaced with a later Nato store item number.
    - Original dial in lovely condition. Blued hands in good condition with some slight tarnishing, likely relumed.
    - Watch winds and sets smoothly and correctly, keeping good time. Chrono starts, stops and resets fine. Cal 15cht movement was recently serviced with a fresh mainspring installed.
    - Crystal was not changed and has slight scratches.
    - Will provide a fresh unworn blue Nato strap with watch.

I've tried to give an accurate description of the watch but please do look at the high res pictures attached. All pictures taken recently. I have not opened the caseback to avoid voiding the maintenence warranty, but can do so for movement pictures for sincere buyers.

OMG, this is - to the best of my recollection from 40+ years ago - the exact watch that my father handed down to me after he retired from the Royal Air Force in the mid '60s. He was a navigator in Coastal Command, running long boring patrols out over the Irish sea, and relied on a chronograph for his dead-reckoning navigation - which is probably why he was issued one of these instead of the standard RAF issue at the time.

Unfortunately it stopped working several years later, and in the folly of youth I tossed it out in favor of a shiny new digital watch. I still kick myself to this day.

Unfortunately it's out of the question for me at this time, but good luck with the sale!
