My last aqusition, bought from a another member via the sc.

It is by far not the most expensive watch, nor is it in the best condition, but I like it!
The Lemania 3610 movent is really interesting, for me it looks like Mr. Albert Piguet and his team created this movement by taking the beautyful Lemania 3000 as base and simply adding an automatic winding unit to it. The very best thing about it is the cool sound of the rotor action. More on the noisy side but not disturbing and much more interesting than of the most other movements.

I am not sure about the right strap, I believe I have to try out some different kind of.

kind regards,

Timo

Hi Timo!

Great looking 3610. 🥰
Lemania was relatively early with a full rotor automatic.
With the exception of their prototype automatic CH27 chronograph from the late 1940s, they actually never made a “bumper” automatic.
The 36xx evolved from the 3600 (1951), to the 3610(1958 - improved rotor design). They also made a date version of the 3610, the 3615.

The 36xx family is, as you have observed, directly derived from the cal 30xx. Which again was derived from the S27. The common ancestor also to the cal CH27 / “Omega 321”.
Date parts for instance, are shared between caliber 3015, 3065 and 3615. The first two hand wound cal 30xx. The latter automatic.

Cheers!

I am still looking for the perfekt strap for this watch, what do you think about an Eulit palma nylon strap?

I finally found it, an Eulit Palma perlon single-piece strap:
How do you like it? I have been looking at a two-piece Eulit perlon strap myself...

It is far better than every other perlon strap I have tried so far, stiffer and thicker on one hand, but more comfortable on the other hand. And the buckle looks and feels really nice.

I am looking for a matching beads of rice bracelet for this watch. I believe there is a Omega Seamaster model from the same period that shares the same case (35mm in diameter and 18mm lug size). Can you tell me which reference it is and which bracelet / end-links will fit?

Thanks for your help.

kind regards,

Timo

I know of no such connection. 18mm lugs / 35mm case was very much a standard back then.
The cases for cal 3000/36xx Lemania would not be completely identical to any Omega.
I would have looked for a generic, decent quality, BOR bracelet with curved end pieces.

Okay, it was just a thought of mine, maybe I am wrong....

But your idea of getting a generic BoR sounds good.

Any recommendations?

Curious about the Lemania 4650 and 4651? This looks like a very similar movement. Were the 4650 and XX51 derived from these? How reliable are they in the Lemania history of movements? Many thanks for any input!
