Lemania 5012's

My interest in Lemania 5012's, particularly those issued to the South African Airforce, has led me to a few similar 5012's that have proved to be quite elusive......Here is a pic of 2 5012's that share much DNA. Looks like the world Time was released before the SAAF 5012, based on its movement number.

Thanks for your response. I have a 5012 with a missing bezel and would LOVE to buy yours if you were considering selling. Thanks

I'm looking for your incomplete chrono.....

Maybe something to explain: For many, many years now these bezels have not showed up. Collectors tried to have them made in Switzerland , 4 years ago. Did not work out well , because the underside is not easy to copy. At least not for an sensible/affordable price.... unless you order over 50. and there will be no 50 Chronos left on the planet, that need that count down bezel setup.... Mattew and myself know, what the last one at auction fetched 2012 ( or 2013?) I bought the last 2 from a repair shop in Clerkenwell, London in then late 1990`s.

Thanks.....not aware of a bezel that was sold in 2012/13.......unless you are referring to the whole watch (SAAF issued 5012). If so, i think it sold for 11k GBP or similar. I often wonder how these things ended up in the UK..........when they were essentially made for for the Southern Hemisphere militaries...... Once again, if you do decide to sell one of your two.......please pencil me in.....Thanks

There is only one bezel left now. I bought an SAF bezel missing chrono from the South African mil. Collector , who is widely known. Completed the chrono , wore it a few years and sold it as well. Many were issued for the RAF, therefore spares turned up in the UK until 2008/2010. And then the chronos vanished into collectors safes.....

J. Luc 's picture with the cities on the bezel.
Ah - I didn't see anyone say GMT bezel, but the bezel is maybe called that / referred as that because of the GMT at the lume pip.

Above you say 'Many were issued for the RAF' - I'd heard of the RAN version of the watch but never heard they were issued to RAF - you mean Royal Air Force, UK?

These watches were ONLY issued to the SAAF and RAN, not the RAF.........possibly he was referring to something else......another Lemania perhaps.....
