This will probably be double the price in AUD but I do want one quite a lot... Damn Lego are doing some cool stuff these days, I wish a lot of these sets were available when I was a kid.

From the guys over at collectSPACE....

It is a teaser for a longer animation featuring the LEGO NASA Apollo Saturn V
    — presumably a recreation of the Apollo 11 mission but in LEGO form.

Made for a short time, and often limited Availability at first. Most sets like this sell out come back then go out of production.

Apparently the Saturn V was developed from a fans idea on the Lego Ideas page.
I've heard that there is also a gantry submitted somewhere but can't find it.

AUD169.99 per Lego shop Australia, which I think compares very favourably to the UK but not quite as good as the US.

Back orders were expected to deliver from 15th June yesterday but have already shot out to 11th July as of this morning.

There are Aussie Lego blogs that I've found this week that suggest buying from Amazon France is often cheaper than buying local, even with the shipping.
Lego store AU is quoting $35 shipping for this set but free shipping if you can push your order to over $200.

Myer and David Jones are having 20% off Lego sales at the moment but highly doubt we'll see this in stores for a long while.
Also found out this week that we now have a big Lego store down at Dreamworld accessible without park entry.
Might be worth making a call to them.

I agree it would have been nice. However...I remember trying to build all sorts of models of real-life stuff using a hodgepodge of bricks from all my sets. Forced creativity. I remember building a lunar lander. Mine wasn't terribly accurate, but it was pretty cool tie dye effect from all sorts of different colored bricks I had to use. It was roughly to scale for the Lego space guys I had too (many with the space helmets that would always break exactly where the helmet was broken on the Lego Movie space guy - I obviously wasn't the only one who had that issue in the 80's).

So I started putting it together... it's huge. And not for kids lol. The details that you can't see on the box are impressive.

What I thought was the first and second stage was an incomplete 1st stage. I'm not sure how I'm going to display it. It's 1 meter tall! Like the Sopwith Camel , the larger star wars pieces and 911 GT3 this is a pretty serious model that's not really for kids play.

The Lego web site was not allowing orders on it yesterday, and Amazon only had a couple of sellers who were selling for 4-5xs the MSRP. I called an area Lego store and they are currently out, but think they may get one or two in at some point this weekend. I will check with them later today.

I've never seen a step by step lego build on this site before but I totally approve!

This is a fabulous set... now I need to find a suitable place to display it. IMG_0449.JPG IMG_0450.JPG IMG_0451.JPG

The way that they've put the kit together, and some of the ingenious use of bricks and hinging etc to get the outer skin as realistic as possible is just phenomenal.

Took kids to Lego store today and saw that; first thought was that they should have Moonwatches on the minifigures!

    Great work.
How long did it take you?
I need to plan ahead for an unproductive work week.
