It will most definitely require a service - the case back gasket hasn't been changed in years, and any self-respecting watchmaker would change that when they service the movement.

Archer, yours is always a valued opinion. And what is your opinion on the dial damage: specifically the markers (indices?) and discolouration at the 5 o’clock?

What would a service for a 321 run these days? Is he looking at CAD1000 (USD 760), or higher? Given the service requirements would a fair price be in the range of CAD 2500-3000 (USD 1900-2300).

Appreciate all the expert advice here, folks.

Dial is certainly damaged, but I've seen much worse. I would have to see it in person to know if anything could be cleaned off - cleaning of stuck on materials is always risky.

The cost for service depends entirely on who does the work and what they charge.

My expertise is not in valuations, so how much this is worth I can't answer...

Thanks for the honest reply, Mate!

Anyone else care to speculate? Is this thing worth a shot, or is it a walk away? All opinion and photos of cats welcome.
