Hi everyone, I made an account on this site just for this post because I know everyone here is super knowledgable! I've been on the looking for an Omega Constellation Pie Pan for quite some time now. The search has been rough in that there are so many frauds out there, and the real ones tend to get really pricey. I'm currently looking an Omega 14902 62SC (which is not as common from what I know), but the seller has really bright pictures that make it really difficult to tell the condition of the watch. I have asked for more normal (non-studio touched up) images, but meanwhile, this is what the watch looks like. I know that the watch case/back have been excessively polished. But everything else looks like its original and in good condition in my opinion (aside from strap). Crystal has omega symbol as well. Is this watch authentic?
Not only has the back been excessively polished/worn so has the rest of the watch. The dial has been refinished and the movement has had a hard life. This watch is next to worthless. One of the worst examples I've seen in quite some time. Run away. Yes its authentic, but who cares.
The case is very polished indeed, and the movement looks very poor. I'm not really knowledgeable enough to authoritatively comment on the dial but it looks OK.
The dial has lume, though it is hard to be sure from that picture, but the hands have no lume when they should if so. The caseback is polished to beggary. Avoid. Like AIDS. Avoid.
Sigh... I guess when we are desperate for something, and have a hard time finding it, we start to see what we wish was real. I guess that's how bad sellers get people. -__- Thank you for the advice! Will keep on looking!
The best place to find an honest vintage omega Connie is right here on the for sale section of this forum.
Is there a bowing 'we are not worthy' emoticon? If so, can someone please post a few at @Shabbaz since that was masterful.
Please share with us the link to that sales site so we can read the description. Does anybody want to start a pool on use of the words: "rare", "authentic", "original"?
