I love leather bags and the vintage Coach I showed earlier in the thread is stunning- but weighs more than the contents I put in it! After years of carrying heavy camera bags on my left shoulder, I have developed some sort of pinched rotator or tendon problem from the shoulder so the elbow- comes with the job I guess (every photographer over the age of 50 I know gets it), so the lighter I can go the better.
I travel for my job and I have found canvas is better than leather for that reason. My bag of choice is an old Royal Navy issue grip holdall. Canvas trimmed with leather.

For work I carry the old Coach brief case I posted earlier in the thread. For travel I carry a canvas Orvis bag similar to the one above. I do find canvas to be much lighter and to wear very well. Mine is a light weight canvas and it has lasted well over thirty years, as it was my grandmother's overnight bag before it became mine.
Gotta say, I'm loving the vibe of this leather laptop bag discussion! It's always cool to see folks sharing their thoughts and experiences on different products.
As for the question on the table, I gotta give a shoutout to Mato & Hash. Their stuff is legit! I've had a few of their products in the past, and they've always held up well. Quality leather, solid construction, and stylish designs – what more could you ask for in a laptop bag?
Anyway, just wanted to chime in and share my two cents. Keep the conversation going, y'all! It's awesome to see people coming together to chat about their favorite gear.
Another vote for Saddleback — incredibly well made. I believe that their slogan is: “They’ll fight over it when you’re dead” and I expect that’s probably true. I have a leather backpack of theirs that I received as a gift 15 years ago and have used every day since then. Still good as new.
