I want to learn more about the 1960s era seamster, like the one depicted in this image. How common were they? Is there anything I should be on lookout for when purchasing one? What's a 'fair' price?

    Thank you.

I'm not an expert but I think the seamaster 600 only came in five different dial versions, the above was not one of them. You should look for one with a nice case, hands and dial. Prices at the moment, maybe from 400 USD in steel and twice as much for a collector's piece. Just my two cents.

What book is that picture from?

If you're looking to buy a watch like that, you're gonna be in for a disappointment if you're searching eBay for it.

    ;)

They are great little watches, by the way. I recently got mine, but it'll probably end up on the block soon, due to financial issues. A shame, because those numerals are really great!

Have a look at AJTT, pp 291, top left. Mark your copy accordingly.
