picked this 1960 omega Seamaster 562 at a local thrift store for $6 a few days ago. Runs like a charm. Will add to my collection of thrifted omega watches.

I wish my local thrift stores didn’t know about the Internet either.

Well done. I keep looking but I think all of the op shops here are internet savvy. I did pick up a 70's Omega Geneve manual wind a couple of years ago at a house clearance for the princely sum of $0. It keeps great time after a quick lube and oilchange and new strap.

Thanks for all the replies! I have 3 omegas now from thrift stores. I also just snagged this auto winder for $20! It works nicely.

Anyone else searching through @rejd's posts for clues as to where he might be thrift shopping?

lets just ask nicely first

I suppose, but that invovles less spycraft . . . or maybe you prefer to call it stalking.

Haha. I'm in Calgary Alberta.

You probably have a lot of thrift stores to check in the big city. I really have one that ever turns up anything good. This is my best thrift store find:

I have got no complaints.

Thrift shopping can be great. Do you go for other stuff or just watches?

I'll go for clothes and I always check CDs. Sometimes I discover new good music by buying random CDs. The South African band Freshly Ground comes to mind.

Back in the late 90s I used to buy Commodore 64 computers for a few bucks. I also got an Atari 2600 that way.

i search for many things. I get lots of great jewelry. Original art (one I bought for $15 and sold at auction for $27000!) pottery and anything else that catches my eye. I re sell most of it.

Wow, I can only wonder many tons of costume jewelry and paint-by-numbers amateur paintings you have searched through.
