Just wanted to share some pics of the last incoming of the year for me, just in time for the end of December. I wasn't completely sure if I was going to get it over the past 3 or 4 weeks, but it finally made its way over to me last week. The dial is in average condition with a tiny dent near the 5 o clock. Unfortunately it is also missing the seconds hand so I can't even see if the most important part of the watch is working, the dead center seconds! Regardless, it's an interesting part of Omegas history with few remaining. This one also has a low serial number (43) out of the 1000 production run compared to the other ones that have surfaced over the years. As the story goes, only 17 escaped the recall but personally I also think that number could very well be higher. Anyways, I am happy to own one that has "escaped".
Congrats on a nice catch. Finding the original hand will be a tough call - but you can use a hand from cal. 371 which should be easily accessable There seems to be a missing pivot in the bearing of the centre wheel - I have sent you a PM
Looks like the seconds hand is compatible with a number of other Omega calibers: http://cgi.julesborel.com/cgi-bin/matcgi2?ref=lmxD_EU However, Jules Borel lists 3 different sizes of seconds hands. Not sure which is the correct one. Good news is that all seem to be available. I don’t think you’ll find the arrowhead version that was on these watches originally. Here is the complete parts list: http://cgi.julesborel.com/cgi-bin/matcgi2?ref=OME_372 Helluva way to end the year, Kyle! gatorcpa
Did this ever get its second hand Kyle? This thing is one of the coolest pointless inventions in watchmaking and I love it
