I was visiting Italy last week and I found this Speedmaster in a little shop... it was unexpected ! I think all parts are original.
Please tell me about the color of the Chrono Sweep, only because I've not seen that on others. I certainly don't know enought to say it not original, only unusual, at least to me. Regardless it's a wonderful find...Wear in good health!
It was a vintage watch shop in Venice. It's not the first time I see a second hand with an orange patina. According to Moonwatch Only, it's a normal evolution of the luminous material.
@Pianist, it's such a nice watch, I think you should sell me that 2998 dial you picked up not long ago. Fair?
Wow, nice one! I've only ever been to Italy on holiday, so I don't visit the watch sellers. That way I avoid temptation and, sadly, opportunities like this! Congratulations on a beautiful example.
Nice catch, even though the lower left lug looks quite polished down compared to the others. Dial and hands more than make up for it though!
Thanks The caseback is marked "SP" (Spécial Poussoirs), which means it's a special version with a better water resistance.
