I inherited this lovely watch from my grandmother, who recieved it as a gift from my grandfather. I'm not a watch expert at all, but I have tried to research different models and designs and failed to find anything even similar to this piece. I'm aware I might need to get a watchmaker to open it up but that seems costly and money is a little tight at present.

In terms of the age of the watch, I'm not sure. My grandparents were born early 1920's and this watch has a mechanical winding mechanism so it must be fairly old.

You will get more help if you post the images directly using the "add photos" button.

Clicking on one, it looks like 1960s, but the case reference will be on the inside of the case back. Omega made many cocktail watches at this time but they're poorly documented compared to the information available for men's watches of the same period

Have a watchmaker open it and take some pictures.

Thank you. Unfortunately money is tight so I'd rather not spend money on having it opened up if it's not likely to have much value beyond sentimental.

If there isn't a hallmark on the back, it's gold filled rather than solid, so probably only worth $200. If it is solid gold, then the insurance value would be roughly the scrap price of the gold content plus about 15% because it says Omega on the dial.

I don't think you have to go to a watchmaker to open it..with a sharp knife you can try to do it yourself..beware not to cut your fingers..
If you will not be able to open it by 1-2 to tries leave it to an expert..

Thank you. I'm in the UK but yes, sounds like probably not worth opening it up with a view to selling.
