Konstantin Chaykin - Too cheeky or just right?

Ever since the joker, I just HAVE to to see all his new releases. Reading about his workshop environment (more like a machine shop) it seems like a contrast to the sterile rooms of Omega or ALS.

This new "year of the rat" is just too awesome. Guilloche finish on the dial, along with whiskers and the golden crown. I HAVE to tip my hat to him. Very very refreshing.

If it floats your boat, I'm happy for you. Very different from what I'm used to, but definitely unique. Let me see if I can tell time..
The left eye tells you the hour, the right eye the minutes and the tongue wags the seconds? What do the letters on the bezel signify... the brand?

I am a big fan of Silberstein, but a lot of people couldn't see what he was doing back in the 90's. I feel that way about Chaykin, doesn't do anything for me. But there is room for everyone.

I really like the look. Very unique. I’d love to try one on see how it looks but I don’t think that will be happening. I shall admire from afar. I hope someone here gets one to give us an in person review and numerous pics

If they were a couple thousand I would consider one as a novelty piece but at their retail prices I wouldn't touch them. I do find them interesting though 👍

I agree. They are actually quite cool. But at that price point, not for me.

Price point for luxury watches is always hard to justify on its own. But when compared against other companies’ products at $15-35k, this def has an appeal.

That vampire watch is awesome! I love the individuality of the watch. The wearer has to have confidence and sense of humor.

i already made a review for a french forum, i can pout it a translation if you wish

i read some people comment the price, you have no idea what a bargain it is compared to what is found elsewhere on the market at comparable prices,
moreover you should know who to compare this factory of 300 pieces per year to... small series, large costs...

I appreciate almost all art, but only a tiny percentage of it would I display in my house. I really appreciate these watches and I am glad they exist for people to enjoy. Thanks for sharing, the watch brought a smile to my face.

As a $50 quartz watch, I'd buy it as a joke. But after that my interest ends.

Today I'm going to tell you about a watch that made a strong impression on me and that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it.
It was if my memory is correct during the presentation of the AHCI watches at Baselworld 2017, then in the watch selection of the GPHG 2017, the very surprising Konstantin Chaykin JOKER.

konsta10.jpg

Unfortunately, as often, we wake up far too late because most of us do not spend our lives monitoring everything that is happening in the watchmaking microcosm, and so:
either the desired model can no longer be found because it is produced in very small series, and all are already sold,
or that all of a sudden the rating is taken by a vertiginous flight and that the finances no longer follow.

Here we are in the 2 cases successively, simply too late to participate in the project, because it was a limited edition of 99 pieces, all quickly sold to collectors who for the most part have no need to part with this room to continue to satisfy their passion or meme for another reason, in short the original joker is not found..

gphg2011.jpg

Certainly there was a second series of 88 pieces, but with some differences this time,
the main one is that the watch is made of titanium instead of steel, and the guillochage of the front and nose is no longer quite the same, certainly very pretty too but different, In any case as impossible to find as the first version, or has a price just as high as the previous version, as these 2 models trade between 2 and 3x their original price.

However, it turns out that apart from these two official series there is a hidden, confidential series of 188 additional pieces in steel, but with color variations compared to the original Joker, which makes it a different watch even if very close. This series was produced for the opening of the Tigre de Cristal (a hotel resort casino by the sea 1 hour north of the city of Vladivostok) these pieces intended for the clientele of this establishment.
