Hi specialists. Does anyone have detailled infos on this Seiko with this (rare?) adjustment?

Seller claims this as original.

Merci!

I'm not a KS expert but when I was looking to find one, there were certain models with an external fine adjustment. I didn't consider it "rare" or "desirable", and the prices (back then) weren't jacked up because of it.

Yes, this is original. It was also used on watches with the 5246 movement (another KS).

As I recall, there were some problems with moisture that could get in via the screw, which is why Seiko dropped the idea again. You don't find this external adjustment screw on later models like the 5256 KS.

I wouldn't consider it "rare" or "desirable" either, though it also wouldn't put me off buying a watch I like. It is an interesting idea, and it shows that Seiko was optimizing and innovating a lot during this period.

btw, that screw is a plug that allows access to the actual adjusting mechanism. I've not heard that there were moisture problems associated with it, so an interesting tidbit if so. The adjuster was a nice way to fine tune the watch, but I suspect the cost of the additional feature was one reason it wasn't retained. I've a couple with this feature but have never used it - my KS are accurate enough, a half century or more on, that I don't want to tinker with and mess them up.
