Total fake.

I wouldn't pay for the postage if you offered it to me for free.

How can that ad not arouse your suspicion? If it did and you really ask regarding value of this IWC/JWC or whatever, I agree it is the wrong thread. Anyway it is one of the most horrible examples of a fake IWC. 🤮

Now only the case is new, but all other parts except the movement. Should not be offered as IWC : )

That's why I asked. glad I did.

I'm after a ww2 style watch but don't know much about them. I've only got vintage omega and breitlings.

On the plus side they didn't whack a swastika on it, so you have to admire their restraint on this little historical fairytale of a watch.

You need to find a member in London who is knowledgeable in such watchs. He could show you around and teach you what you need to know. There are many WWII watches in London I believe.

Are you after a World War II "style" watch, or an actual World War II watch ?
What's your budget ?

I can give you a few pointers to good choices in your price range.

Up to £2000 Max. I just bought a Breitling Top Time so can't go mental.

I'd consider both original or newer but I like manual winds.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's such a broad field that it's hard to recommend specific watches without more information on your preferences, but a start would be.

For time only watches.

British WW2 Army
Cyma WWW (budget option, no more than 600-700 for an extremely nice one)
Longines WWW (top end of your budget, but really a great watch)

Post War
Hamilton 6B (maybe 600-800)
Smiths W10 (again 600-800)
Omega 53 TA (top end of your budget)

And for chronographs

Post War
CWC asymmetric chronograph (1000-1400)
Lemania single pusher chronograph (top end or even higher)

Those are a good starting point if your wanting to buy British.
If you don't care about which armed forces then these are all really interesting

Other countries
Lemania Tg195
Longines Majatek
Hanhart WW2 Cal. 41 chronograph (expensive but so cool, and perhaps closest to your OP)
Junghans 88/0111 chrono (not a stainless case, but I like them)

There are so many possibilities, but a look here is at least a start. Head on over to the MWR forum if you want detailed information or feedback on specific issued pieces, and it's a great place to buy on there PX sub-forum.

Much appreciated.
