I just posted this on a different forum, so will also post here for any interested. I have been enjoying reading all the different comments regarding this new watch. As will all new releases, from any brand, people love it, hate it, or are mostly neutral towards it. I am on Omega fan and really like that they tried something a little different. I could not wait to see the watch in person and had told my dealer if I loved it, i was taking it home with me. So I went by today, handled it, loved it, and now its home.
I like the more angular look of the case and bracelet. And while some people really hate the PCL's, I like them. Although I think they will stand out more in natural lighting.

As pointed out my many people, one of the biggest changes is the thickness of the watch. They made it thinner by over two millimeters. Here is a thickness comparison between the Ultra Deep, the previous generation Planet Ocean and the new one.

And a side by side comparison.

And a shot next to a Seamaster 300m

While I did try on the model with the blue bezel, on rubber strap, I did not grab any pics. But there are plenty online. The rubber strap was excellent, extremely comfortable. But the bracelet was way too nice and, at least for me, this was definitely the way to go. I truly think Omega did an amazing job with with this watch. And if you look at their website, they cleaned up the Planet Ocean line and have fewer models, at least for now. I think this is a good sign and can't wait to see what they do next.

Nice, thanks for sharing! Especially the side profile and measurements. The watches being too thick is probably the single biggest complaint modern Omega gets (including from me) and this is a promising step in the right direction. I think 13.6 mm is reasonable for a 600m diver. Does anyone know what thickness the first gens were?

What a nice watch. Good on you for being an early adopter. It will grow on people. Total change, but they needed it.

Hey Congratulations, looks great! The proportions are on point, especially with the thickness. Honestly, didn't think I'd like it as much as I do, kind of a throwback to the Omega 70s divers.

Congrats. It's a classy watch. Only time will tell if it becomes a classic, but it's a beautiful watch either way.

Probably a lot of people are afraid to go to the dealer to try it on. Seems like it'd be hard to resist.

Something else I didn't notice until these photos is that the clasp appears substantially larger and thicker. That might actually provide more balance for the head and keep it centred on your wrist a bit better as a counterweight.

It does look very sharp in those shots, do you mind if I post some of those to the forum IG account http://instagram.com/omegaforums/ as I didn't want to re-use publicity ones or those taken by major publications?

That's the worst looking watch I ever saw. You buy a watch like that and I'll bet you get a free bowl soup.

Just kidding! I'm glad you enjoy your new watch.

My 42mm 2201.50 measures 14.2mm.

So noticeably thinner than a 2500 based first gen then. Almost as thin as a current gen SMP despite twice the depth rating, although with a solid caseback to help out. Either way, that's a huge win for this new gen.

Congratulations!
May i ask if your orange bezel/white dial PO came with a Nato strap, too?
Because I was thinking... if anyone who purchase the new PO in orange wanted to swap the bracelet with a Nato strap, the best options (to me) are NOT available in the web store; I'm talking about those two and I think they came with your orange PO:

Congrats on your new piece and wear it in good health. I think it looks great. Thanks also for your pics, especially the the one comparing it with the Seamaster Pro 300m diver. It confirms what I suspected, that the new PO wears smaller thanks to the thicker bezel (and hence smaller dial) and a lug-to-lug of 47.5mm as opposed to 49.9mm (data from Omega's website). It means that a guy with a smaller wrist like myself could potentially pull it off. I have a Speedmaster "First Omega in Space" which has a similar lug-to-lug and I find that it works fine on my 6 inch wrist.

I saw all three colourways last night at the launch event in London - the black one was my favourite, and gave off scaled down Ultra Deep vibes. Congratulations!

My white dial, orange bezel, did not come with a nato strap. You could purchase it like that, all buy the straps separately.
