If there is a no reserve auction that interests me, I ALWAYS ask if there is a BIN because more and more sellers are going off ebay.

 

How did you know his offer? That end price is no way near his offer.

 

I have no clue what his offer was. If you bid early and are in the running on a auction, you will receive a "cancel bid" notice from ebay when the seller ends the auction early, which alerts you to the fact that someone like @gemini4 has worked thier magic.

A quick message to the seller, and you can ask for the opportunity to make a better offer if in fact they have agreed to a number with a buyer.

I have not done this, it is just a hypothetical.
