Just in... ‘69 Memomatic

I just received this in the mail today. It’s an early example of the 166.072 Seamaster Memomatic alarm watch from 1969 with the Omega Cal. 980 (Lemania 2980) movement.

I got it for a steal off of eBay. It just needs a little polywatch and it should be good to go. I just ordered some 699 end links that will work with my Speedy 1171 bracelet on it. I really like it.

If this is the one that just sold for $760, you did indeed get a helluva deal. Congrats!

I don't know how I missed this thread.

I just picked this one up a few weeks ago. It has the rarer cushion case with heavy bevels near the lugs. The case is a mess, but for $500 I think I can restore it and not be upside down on the investment.

Congrats!

Also love my blue one 😀

A great looking watch and the milanese bracelet and black strap with blue stitching are phenomenal 👍

I had never noticed the two types of cushion case before. The helmet case is my favourite though and thats a cracker.

I probably shouldn't say this, but I am amazed that you can get an Omega watch with a movement this complicated for under a thousand. Modern sizing, beautiful dials. I think they are very under appreciated. I just grabbed my third, but I won't post until it arrives. I am superstitious that way. I hope it is my best under $800 Omega purchase.
