I thought the crowns were also SS ... no signs of plate on either of mine. That said it seems correct and the brassy look is cool.

A good point - it had never occurred to me but, on balance, one might expect a manufacturer at UG's level to provide a solid stainless crown on a SS watch. I'm ashamed to say that I've never had this serviced (or even had the back off) and will have to consider my options when I do. I'm not inclined to change it unless I have a better option available.

Isn't it strange to put Diamond (hour) and Pencil (minute) hand together?
It’s only anecdotal but, from my observation of Ebay, they made more of this iteration than the double diamond version.

WOW ...Lots of effort but great results! I agree the tweed just makes the vintage POP. I wish my tweed jackets did that for me!

yes for sure. I think the most common is double stick/baton, then there is half/half, and the least is double diamond, you don't see them often
