Just a Craig ad, or a Bond forecast?

Omega just sent out this ad. The next Bond won't hit theaters for another year yet, but is currently in pre-production. Shooting will likely start soon, so Omega surely knows which watch(es) they want Craig wearing in the film. Is this telegraphing one of them? Or is Omega just putting Craig to work as an ambassador?

Either, way, it’s marketing. And the fact that you’ve posted it here tells me it is at least minimally effective.

No mention of Bond in the message below from the CEO... It's just mentioned Daniel Craig a couple of times... So their intention is probably to have Craig represent the new range of SMP watches... But with the tux, it's somewhat indirectly Bond related..

In the tux, he's Bond. I think they're previewing the watch he'll wear on screen.

I think that, given the fact that this will be Craig's final appearance as Bond (and that the release date - March 2020 - will put this film 25 years after GoldenEye), it's a shoo-in that we'll see the new blue SMP Diver on Bond's wrist.

Sry but even Bond can’t pull off a blue rubber strap with a Tux.

I thought Craig wouldn't be the next Bond?

It’s amazing what large sums of money can do to change your mind.

I disagree, its visually appealing with a play on textures and depth (water) and the blue is salient.
Its a blue watch, he’s in the water and has bright blue eyes - it makes sense to me.
Clearly Bond I agree with the above, only Bond and a survivor of titanic would find himself in a suit in the water.

It would make a good Blue fragrance ad visual too.

Right, at least for now. Until a week ago, IMDB had been showing a November 2019 release, so another change could happen. The previous Craig Bond films have all had an October or November release date, so this is unusual. This will also be the second-longest release gap in the history of the franchise, second only to the delay between License to Kill and Goldeneye. Even the gap between Quantum of Solace and Skyfall was shorter, and that's when MGM was is bankruptcy proceedings. I wonder what accounts for this delay.

The film’s proposed director Danny Boyle had a ‘difference of opinion’ with the producers, so they’ve had to bring in a new director, hence the delay http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/ja...mes-bond-25-release-date-change-new-director/

Instagram has had the Craig Seamaster photo up for a while now so it’s all just clever marketing...

That all makes sense. I noticed they had a new director on board, but I didn't realize that affected the release date. It also looks like the IMDB info is based on this article, or similar reporting, since their update was the same day the article was published.

Indeed. I first saw this the day after Boyle quit being the director (a couple of months ago), which was unfortunate and confusing (for fans) timing wise. Craig, a la Brosnan before him, were ambassadors (of sort) for Omega. Either way this is pure marketing in Craig and Omegas' interests .. let alone Bond.

Some have talked about Bond going back to a Rolex . ..but who knows.

Going to Rolex wouldn't make sense, unless they wanted to market SS watches.

In that pic, he looks a bit like a captain going down with the ship.
