Hey guys!

So I’m excited to say I’ve just picked up a 1940s Omega 30T2 with Pontife hands. Something I have been looking for now for a couple of years!

I’d love to know your opinions and if anybody knows what case reference this is I’d love to know! It’s one of the ones that doesn’t have a reference in the back only a serial. This one I understand is 37.5mm.

Anyway enjoy the pics and I hope you might have a little more information about it than I can find.

Thanks as always,

Ollie 😀

A very lovable watch, congrats!
I can't wait to get hold of it myself so I can take some photos in natural daylight 😀

I will do! Needless to say I'm very excited! 😀

Nice! Congrats... Very attractive hands indeed

It's taken some time searching, I first saw a 'Fab Suisse' dial with pontiff hands several years ago, and this led me on a journey of discovery, not found a nice example until now though. This has also got "Fab Suisse" in the caseback so I assume these hands were perhaps only used for the French market. Anyway, I think we can all agree the hunt is half the fun! 😀

Just updating with new pics! It finally arrived
The serial dates it to 1942. With this in mind and the fact it carries a 30T2 makes me think it is a 2168 reference case and not a 2097 as I have not seen one with a 30T2 movement. What’s the opinion of the experts? Did 2097s come with 30T2s, or does this fact and mean this is a 2168 (which in terms of sizes etc appear to be the same as the 2097 and measures 37.7mm).

Look forward to hearing your opinions!

Ollie

P.S. if you’re wondering there is no crystal fitted as the one that was included was too small so I’m buying another 😀

Yes don’t worry! I have put another crystal in place held by sticky tape temporarily until the correct size arrives. It’s only 0.4mm out, but that’s enough for it not to be secure 😀 Rest assured its safe ☺️
