I used to work in outside sales, and US auto companies and suppliers were my customers. I could only use my car allowance for a a 4-door American vehicle. Later on the rules were changed. and you could purchase whatever you wanted. I ended up with an Infiniti FX35 which at the time was a new unique design ($45K in 2006). Cool car but certainly below a BMW or Mercedes. I learned one of my customers complained to my boss that my car was too nice. The customer was a real jerk and read me the riot act because I showed up 15 minutes early to an appointment.
If you had an American car, you would have been 15 minutes late 😉

It brings up two interesting questions. If you were taking the oath of office for POTUS which watch would you wear? For me it would be my Apollo 8 Dark Side of The Moon out of respect for all those who worked on the mission. .

I'd wear my RGM 801ES (see my profile pic). I had to wait 9 months to get that sucker!

I worked on a project for GM years ago. They told us to rent GM cars, which wasn't generally a problem for me, as I preferred the Malibu (and they usually had Impalas). Once or twice I got a Hyundai, if it couldn't be helped. Our new project manager rented something foreign on his first or second week. They had a chat with him. :-O

Don't trust ANYTHING you read on Facebook!
That's why I don't have a FB page. Nothing but selfies looking for validation, or people attempting to display how perfect their life is.

It's also a great way to see that my cousin went directly from the gym to an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant 🤦

I have never had any social media accounts. My wife cancelled her FB account this year. It was creating anxiety and stress as she would get into conflicts with family and friends over politics, realize that her relatives were utter morons, and wanted to wretch in disgust seeing the behavior of people she once respected. Since canceling it, she has seen a marked difference in her mental/ emotional well being. Sometimes we shouldn’t know too much about the people around us.

I highly recommend the recent documentary titled “The Social Dilemma”. To summarize it:

Make sure you live tweet your thoughts while you’re watching because everyone is so interested in what we think minute to minute.

I still have mine but I just block everyone that does nothing but post political bullshit over and over. It’s so much better once I did that. Now it’s just post after post of the Speedmaster and Seamaster group and people doing wrist shots.

Do we have to thank Drumpf for making it ok to wear an entry level Rolex?

Also it wasn’t just an entry level Rolex it was actually a women’s Rolex.
