Excellent post as usual J!

Well done on slowing down and enjoying your life more too. 馃憤 City living has that sense of urgency that just won't let your blood pressure drop. Hope you bag some nice dinners in the woods around your new place.

Gee, how did I miss this annual veritable 'feast' for the eyes and soul from your previous years?

Now, I can't wait to read the other three; and the eventual retrospective of JE for 2017!

It's reassuring to know that, despite a damping of 'horolo-lust', you are still here contributing with entertaining and heartwarming threads like this one 馃榾... have a great new year!

Sometime in the future you'll realize that you aren't completely consumed with hunting the next watch, but you still will come post and go to GTGs. Watches were the binder that brought you together, but the people are the important part.

A thoroughly involving escape from the world for ten minutes, and some great watch photography.

Special mention?

I think for me it was the Colonel Kurtz Rollie.

It brought back memories of my Subbie that I wore bezelless for a couple of months in Malaysia after the bezel got knocked and I'd put it away to fix it later and forgot where I put it. Found it deep in the bottom of my kit bag though. Phew!

I also wore another "nude" watch for a while. A Speedmaster while I was working on restoring the bezel rather than buy a new one.

Thanks for the effort JE.

Thank you all for the kind words!

Now I will spend more time going full redneck and cultivating my new collection of vintage gun racks for pickup trucks. Or get a Range Rover and some full tweed outfits - and an irish setter. It can go either way - no teeth and moonshine or bad teeth and tea.

Thanks again!

Really enjoyable read - I went back and read the ones from earlier years as well, which were excellent.

Thanks for sharing!
