Should I do it? i like but don’t love my fois. Needs different handset in my opinion.
Already have a speedy pro so trying to avoid those hands.
Other than the panda dial which can’t be had, other suggestions?

I’m going to go with no…

a Sinn 903 lemania dial… that could be cool if you could find one.

I think you should sell it instead. That case is too dressy for that racing dial.

Other option is to sell the FOIS and buy an already modded Japan Racing model. They are relatively easy to score and end price may not be that different. A nice one sold last month here on OF for $5,500. Not a fan of putting a 'Professional ' dial on a non-professional model.

While you can do what you want, I would sell the FOIS and buy one of the new Speedmaster mark 2 with the Racing Dial. That way the case, movement AND dial are different from your current Speedmaster Pro.

Less hassle than trying to find parts AND have them installed, and likely less expensive in the long run.

I did something similar with a Sinn 903 dial and a Bucherer Lemania case, I'd never thought about fitting it to a Speedmaster case, could be interesting 😁

My though it is that it would give a clean panda dial look.

after I looked at mine I forgot it had the slide rule printing on the dial 🙁

What good is this thread without some pics? Here is my Japan Racing Special mod. It started life as a 3594.50 around 2003 and converted to full spec 3570.40 this year. I have it on a lightly padded Genteel charcoal maya leather strap with Omega deployant buckle.
