Ok. So I'm watching James Bond at the moment. Before he's going to Crab Key he's testing his geigerteller with his watch. But that's not a rolex sub 6538 right!?! Or did he wear something else?!? I'm in the dark here!!

What makes you think it ISN’T a 6538? It certainly looks like one, even in those blurry screen-captures. There are better pictures of him wearing it in that movie (as well as subsequent ones) and it is well-documented it was the producer’s personal watch given to Connery to wear for specific scenes. It’s just on a leather strap, not the bracelet. I don’t think Connery ever wore it on a bracelet in the movies.

He didn’t. He used leather and a tricolor NATO

Sorry for the late reply. Was busy today.

Anyway where are the numerals on the insert? The whole movie I was looking at the watch. No numerals.

By the way, every night there's a Bond movie on dutch television. Love it! Even the ones with Roger Moore!

Haha. True. But I record all movies. I'm the only one in the house who likes the old Bond movies so I look at them when everybody is gone. Just perfect.

And…Connery didn’t die from Radium exposure…

Or from Indiana Jones either.

In his line of work, radium exposure would be the least of his worries.

Or from Indiana Jones either.

Just yesterday read that Indiana Jones was supposed to be Tom Selleck, but after he was offered the part CBS wouldn’t let him out of Magnum PI to film

🥰

I grew up with Roger Moore Bond films and for me he is still the quintessential Bond - unpopular though that opinion is. I will concede that his work in the 1970s (when he was still largely in his forties) is a touch better than the later films, though…
