Might be a battle which watches he preferred and when.....0)
Technical performance and sponsorship all played there parts I imagine.... a matter of timing.

His wrist has certainly adorned some magnificent time pieces… Rolex, omega, blancpain etc.

Wonder if he was actually a watch guy in the traditional sense or purely interested in the functional elements along with the associated sponsorship.

I love seeing Jaques Cousteau playing with his action figures.

Seriously though I look forward to watching the documentary, he did some incredibly fascinating work.

Nice to see a younger person celebrating Jaques Cousteau and the Calypso is some detail. I recommend his excellent amateur documentary. I did grab a few screen shots for any watch spotters. Certain a Marine C pops up at the 26 min mark.
The series of articles in Monochrome ticks off a lot of the watches the Cousteau team used. I do recall being captivated by a lot of the films and has an air fix model of the boat as a kid.
