Jack Nicklaus' gold Rolex is coming to auction: https://www.golf.com/news/2019/05/27/jack-nicklaus-rolex-watch-being-auctioned-for-amazing-cause/ If one believes the Newman Daytona sale helped drive the frenzy for SS sports models, perhaps we'll see a surge in interest for precious metal Rolexes soon.
I'm not one to golf, so for me Nicklaus doesn't have the same overall appeal as Newman. But sure, it might happen. Haven't precious metal Rolexes already begun to follow the sports' upwards? At least somewhat.
Kudos to Jack for such a generous gesture, for the right golf fanatic this has got to be worth a few mil, I mean that watch was a "first hand witness" to golf history (sorry couldn't resist!).
The Talking Watches episode with him and this watch was interesting. I believe he had a money clip that he has carried for same amount of time? Should auction together!
