Hi guys,

I recently came across a IWC cal 89 in mint condition. The seller says the dial is original but I see that it does not have the SWISS at 6. Is that normal?

Sometimes the SWISS is hidden under the retainer ring. If it's not there at all it's probably a redial. Some sellers think that an "original dial" means just the slab of metal, and not the original finish too so beware of semantics.

That's a nice watch Shaun. 馃憤 The Pellaton automatic is a great system. If that's a redial it's a 馃がing good one. I'd bet it goes for a minimum of $1500, and probably closer to $1750. The automatic versions are almost always more popular than their manual cousins so it might go even higher.

it ends in an hour and I'm still not sure if I should bid or not...

This looks good to my eye. I have a Yacht Club from him and he was pretty upfront about issues with that watch (which was not a redial).***EDIT - totally my bad. I have my yacht Club from a different Japanese seller*** That said, I would shoot STILL him an message and ask him flat out if thisis a redial. I think he'll be forthcoming.

Yes, I am. One cannot the resist the Force with willpower alone...stealth is also necessary.

It is my most comfortable watch, bar none. And totally understated. I travel with it to the most dubious parts, and it goes totally unnoticed. Cal 8541B inside....

So it does. I missed that. I believe it in this case. Agree with Dennis' estimate of $1750. Anything less that that is a good deal. Have at it.

Now that date I can live with as the colour of the date disk matches that of the dial.馃グ

It wasn't me, didnt have the confidence to go much over $1,500, but someone got a lovely watch
