Hi guys,

I recently came across a IWC cal 89 in mint condition. The seller says the dial is original but I see that it does not have the SWISS at 6. Is that normal?

Sometimes the SWISS is hidden under the retainer ring. If it's not there at all it's probably a redial. Some sellers think that an "original dial" means just the slab of metal, and not the original finish too so beware of semantics.

That's a nice watch Shaun. The Pellaton automatic is a great system. If that's a redial it's a ing good one. I'd bet it goes for a minimum of $1500, and probably closer to $1750. The automatic versions are almost always more popular than their manual cousins so it might go even higher.

Now that date I can live with as the colour of the date disk matches that of the dial.
