Time to move one on to somebody who'll wear it more. By the case and movement serial numbers, this watch was made around 1964-ish. The watch is in very nice condition as you can see from the pictures and has it's original crown with the waterproof fish logo. The movement was just serviced and is in excellent condition. I didn't have any polishing done - it's absolutely fine to wear as is, but if you choose to have your watchmaker touch it up it only has surface swirls and very light scratching to the case & crystal. I've shot this to magnify any flaws so excuse any dust. It will come on a brand new Kelaran glove leather calf-lined strap in your choice of burgundy, black, or chocolate brown: Judging by what these have sold for recently ($1850 - $2200) I'll set my asking price at $2050 - DROPPED TO $1750. As always, first to agree to the asking price gets it and fair offers are always considered. Small box Priority Mail shipping within the CONUS is included - all other locations please inquire first. I'm only listing this here today to give the members first crack. Contact via email at [email protected] or simply message me here. Thanks for looking!
Lovely example & larger than most IWC dress watches of this era. Cal. 8541 is one of the very best vintage auto movements, as well. GLWTS, T.
Let's get this one a new home - dropping the price to $1900 OBO. I can even have the caseback touched up if you wish - just need a little time to have it done.
I don't get it guys - somebody explain it to me like I'm a dummy: what's not right here? The price? Doesn't anyone want IWC vintage watches anymore? If I'm out of line with the asking price, tell me. Thanks!
Hey Dennis, all things considered, it is a very nice piece. And the price is not out of line with the quality of the merchandise. However, not everyone is interested in IWC, which (like you) I don't quite understand. I am in the saving-for-a-grail mode right now (as well as looking at a 25th anniversary present for my better half), so the timing is off for me. But a bit of patience may be rewarded many fold...(my best attempt at philosophy). Love the strap selection!!
+1 to alam's note. But really, your FS post is the first I've seen a vintage IWC that looks nice. I would need one without the date window tho Your price seems good to me (no surprise there). Any lower and ppl may start to ask what's wrong LoL! That's not the competition, IMO. GLWYS
Thanks for the offer, but probably not. I have enough watches already, ya know? Feel free to PM me what you have in mind though.
Making one last price drop to $1750. If it doesn't sell, I have no problem putting it back into the rotation!
