Issue with vintage Seamaster de Ville

Hi OF,

I've encountered an issue with my automatic Seamaster de Ville. The second hand only sweeps when I gently apply pressure to the crown but note that the crown is pulled out.

When I push the crown fully in the second hand stops sweeping. Any thought to what might be the issue?

If the watch is fully wound and you are having this issue it probably needs service.

The seconds hand moves when you are moving the hands because the friction of the cannon pinion is driving the wheel train forwards. If the watch stop fully wound, then it need servicing.
