You're right, it was the complications with UK Customs & Excise I didn't want to get caught up in - usually it delays delivery by ages. But I checked this morning & Isofrane charge the VAT at the point of order - which I haven't seen before for US vendors - so it should be ok. thanks
Damn customs. Moving from Canada to Australia was a refreshing change, because any purchase under $1000 is tax/duty free.
Wow. It has to be under £15 to avoid VAT on import here. And then they can hit you with import duty on top of that if it is over £85 or thereabouts. It pretty much makes buying from most US sellers too involved for me to bother with any more.
It arrived yesterday, which is ridiculously fast. First impressions are that it is excellent, I can hardly tell I'm wearing a watch. I will post a couple of pics of it on my Seamaster GMT when I figure put how to do it from my iPad !
