    Hey guys,

What do you think about this Omega Suveran?

I'm unfamiliar with these watches, but the lume looks relumed to me. The & especially seems to bleed into the subdial.

But other black suverans also seem to have messy lume

Looks like yours also has some bleeding into the subdial- so I guess this is normal?

Weren't many military watches of this era relumed many years ago? Kind of like replacing a burnt lightbulb, these were actually used as tools by the owners, no?

Looks OK honestly but if you can try to put it under a UV light.

A strong Geiger counter reading would tell you if it’s mostly original radium.

I think it looks great. The hand lume looks almost too ‘clean’ to be original, but numerals are c/w radium.

looks like radium to me. hands and numerals don't always age together due to the differing light exposures on the edge and center of the watch. agree with using a handheld geiger counter if you really want to know if it's radium. would definitely use a blacklight on it as well. there is a variant of superluminova that is tinted to look like radium. if you are examining the watch under a loupe you can usually tell because it has a shiny and bubbly surface but a dead giveaway is that the hands will retain a glow with a blacklight while real radium usually has some slight uneven luminous glow under the blacklight that stops immediately after turning off the light source

It's not a military issued watch though.

You see a lot of these with very different lume condition - I would say that this one could be an early relume, looking esp. at the uneveness of the "7" and "2". IMO, that shouldn't subtract significantly from the value (which is probably too high for my tastes anyway :D ).
