    Hey guys,

Just checking if this one is all good as the buyer says its from 1996 and is the model 35705000, it has a different box that I have never seen before.

What are your thoughts on this piece?

    Best Regards,

    Jack

The serial number is in the right range. Box doesn't match mine. Also, they didn't have pushbutton clasps in 1996 (one of the first things I did when they came out was upgrade my bracelet).

    Thanks for the reply VetPsychWars.

So are you saying the bracelet was upgraded on this piece?

That would be the least nefarious of the alternatives, yes.

    One hopes so!

Also do you think the box is just a simple replacement box for another Omega watch?

Not sure what to think about the box... but not the box a Speedmaster came with in that timeframe.

Hang tag says 3570.50 and its a 3570.50 with the later bracelet and luminova dial, not the early tritium, box and 1996 are the things that don't fit, 77M is more like 2006

In this picture you can see the hang tag:

At the top is the model, 3570.50, on the lower left is the serial numbers, 77.1M on the lower right 1861 (the calibre).

It's bizarre that the seller has listed 1996 as the year if 77M equals 2006+

I bought mine in 1997 with a 77M serial number and a Luminova dial. I don't know where you got your information, but it's not correct.

Not sure, but dsio believes that 77M is more like 2006....

97 was luminova, 96 was tritium (roughly that was the changeover period). The '06 on my wrist right now is a 77.1M. There could be some weirdness in yours because Speedmasters don't always follow expected serials but generally speaking 77M was around 10 years later.

A 1996 speedmaster would have a serial number starting with a four. Most likely the seller just got the year wrong.

Interesting. This is is what I received when I wrote Omega about the serial number (when they used to do that). I misremembered when I bought mine, it was late '99.

I firmly believe a watch could have been sitting in stock at a jeweler for five years.

I verified that the serial number is for that model, and honestly it looks fine to me.

Your watch isn't a standard Speedmaster Pro, its a limited edition (or special edition), so the standard pattern doesn't necessarily apply to it in the same way it would a 3570.50
