Hi folks, Do you think this Omega Speedmaster has a misaligned sub dial hand on the minute marker? Should I get this fixed before the warranty expires? It is hardly noticeable unless you zoom in really closely with a loupe. Is this worth a fix?
OCD is my middle name, so to speak, and that wouldn't bother me. Change the viewing angle a few degrees, and it could look perfect.
My rule of thumb, if the tip of the hand is still within the white marker then I wouldnt fuss about it.
In Omega circles SMP as an abbreviation refers to a totally different watch, the Seamaster Professional 300m. I am a big SMP fan and now feel cheated that I was lured in here under false pretences!
Try starting the chronograph, allowing the hands to register for a few minutes, stop the chronograph, then re zero it. May solve your infinitesimal mis-alignment. If you understood all that happens inside a Speedmaster Professional when you operate the chronograph, I really think you wouldn’t concern yourself with a problem that really shows only when you use magnification.
I wouldn't worry about it too much. When you get to 60, you'll find all sorts of things becoming misaligned and not pointing where they're supposed to. Your Speedy sub-dial hand will be the least of your worries mate!
