Does the bracelet alone adds the designation "Grand Luxe"? From what i know the lugs on grand luxe are different than the regular deluxe pies.
My seller who is supposedly very knowledgeable in vintage omegas confidently argues that the watch in pic 1 is Grand Luxe.
He refers AJTT pages 365, 366, 367 and 368? I think its time i get a copy of that book.
From what i know only pic2 and pic3 are considered Grand Luxe not the pic1.
Checked the net couldn't find any literature on this.

In a JTT on page 367 there is an 18k yellow gold and 18k white gold 14902 that are mistakenly described as Grand Luxes. This is one of the relatively few errors that escaped the proof readers. There are also two 18k 168.004s thus described. I had a conversation with Marco Richon about these errors shortly after the publication.

The design language of the Grand Luxe is quite consistent and these models will always have hooded lugs, solid gold dials and their own designated case numbers.

    Cheers

IMHO the first picture shows a de luxe and not a grand luxe...

as mentioned above, a grand luxe should have hooded lugs

I'm guessing the deluxe dome dial is solid gold?

The first pic shows a 14394 De Luxe. The brickwork bracelets were available at point of sale, hence we see GLs with and without the bracelets. Some, quite a few, later GLs were sold with bracelet and will have a 368 prefix on the papers.

Its a very nice piece by the way. Lugs still have their definition and the chamfer on the bezel is quite sharp. Dial, with the onyx inserts, looks excellent.
