I've got this by eBay. Since I'm a beginner I have no idea if it's fake or real. I've done my research and found out only 2 of the like that explains me the story of the watch.

Hi and welcome! It’s on the small side and not very desirable if you buy it simply as an entry into the Omega world. Unless you have some type of sentimental attachment to that particular model - a close relative had one or something similar I would wait for something else, something mechanical that will outlast all of us! This is the place to learn! Have fun and be patient.

Late entry: I gather from @DaveK that you already have the watch. Well then enjoy it and wear it proudly!

Welcome to the forum! Watches are like potato chips, you can’t have just one, so your life will never be the same (same with your savings 😉 )

I think OP has already purchased the watch. I’d guess it is real, but don’t know these at all well. The buckle looks fake to me, based on the quality of the Omega logo. Let others weigh in

Not the best pictures but it looks fine.

It was a dress watch back in the 70s. Pretty plain by today's standards but a nice watch. There are lots of old watches here !

Welcome. Add a nice soft leather band and wear it.

I would say early to mid 80s. I can’t get a reliable hit on 195.0031 which I think is the case no, but the 1417 movement was introduced in 1982 if Ranfft is to be believed.

My guess as well.

Every time I try to decode serial numbers I seem to fail, but if this is what it looks like (to me) it could be 1982 or 1983.

Well, late 1970s is close to early 1980s. Close enough for Gummint work. 😉

After actually doing some research and not just going from my memory, I'd say about 1983/1984.

Well isn't the production year of 1417 movement is 1980's?

What color do you think will match?

I would say that it is not particularly disirable to most people now, but who knows what the future will hold. I bought a mid-century Formica table with orange nagahide swivel chairs for 5$ at a garag sale in the mid 90s before headed off to college. I am sure said table and chairs would command at least $500 in a hipster furniture store now.
