Wondering if any has an opinion on whether this is pitting (implying some sort of damage) or just scratches from wear?

Thoughts?

 

Looks a bit like a gouge, perhaps caused by connecting with another object. Pic isn't all that defined, so it hard to do anything but speculate.

Thanks! I'll try to get a better pic. It's much harder to see when zoomed out, but thought it looked odd zoomed way in.

 

looks like covered up damage to me. deeper gouges slightly filed down.... if pitting was that bad, you would have it on the case rubber ring section as well. how does it look, when you remove the band between the lugs? kind regards. achim
