Hi all. First post here so please forgive/correct if i make any posting mistakes. I am looking to add an Omega Geneve to my collection and came across this one. It is said to be from 1969 so understandably no papers but just wondering if it looks legitimate? seller says it has an aftermarket bracelet and the crown has been replaced also. Photos are attached.

Genuine Omega.

Case is very heavily worn, this one would be a hard pass even for a starter watch.

Thanks for your reply. I also thought it was very worn but at $400 i was intrigued. May look into flipping but as you say the condition makes me hesitant

You could easily spend another $200 + on service, parts, etc. On that basis, I’d up my budget by $200 and get a watch in better condition.

Bear in mind that gold plated are not currently as popular as stainless steel, so go watches are fetching lower prices.

Not even necessary to up the budget to do much better. This case is just gone - it’s a pass.

I think a good price for this watch will be about 250 Euro. I am a little worry because the rotor seems to have a slightly different could than the rest of the machine..

Thank you so much I really appreciate that link 😀 Ironically enough I posted another seamaster asking for advice re condition and trends so this will be incredibly useful.
Just for clarity, that link is not for seeking advice, however it has been an excellent resource for me to learn quite a lot about vintage Omega pieces. To be honest, I still don't have enough confidence to go hunting on my own for many references, so starting a thread to ask advice is the safe bet. Doing a fair bit of research and noting your thoughts about the piece while asking advice is not only a great way to lock in your knowledge about the reference, it's also appreciated by those with the knowledge you seek, letting them know you've done some homework before simply asking for the answer to the test.

Good luck with your hunt, and "patience" is the most valuable advice out there!

Thanks very much for that. I got the gist of the purpose of the link when I gave it a quick read- will definitely be a great resource. I also think your advice is very good. Being new to Omega I am still very much in the mode of looking for validation when asking whether I'm on the right track. I really appreciate your comments!

No, you’ll have to do the legwork and check them individually.
