Hi,

I read this thread: https://omegaforums.net/threads/about-omega-buckles.37347/

about Omega buckles but for some reason I cannot post a new message in that thread.

Anyhow, I just recently bought this buckle on Ebay, being aware that buckles could be fake. I hadn't found the thread on Omega Forums about Omega buckles before I bought it.

The buckle is sold here:
OMEGA 16mm Yellow Gold Plated Watch Strap Buckle,Rare Model.1970'S

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OMEGA-16...108766?hash=item4d97f8385e:g:6zoAAOSwdg5dCkwM

Pictures of the buckle from the Ebay listing:

When I bought it, the add also said 1 available and as soon as I purchased it, the seller put another one up for sale.

I just received the buckle and took some pictures:

What do you experts say. Real or fake one?

Says "acier inox" yet plated...

Noticed that too, at least "ACIER INOX" is written as the correct two words whereas fakes often write it incorrectly as one word, "ACIERINOX". (Acier Inox are the French words for Stainless Steel for those who didn't know, had to look it up myself 馃榾 ) The plot thickens..

Both are true. It is made of stainless steel, and then SOME of them are plated. It鈥檚 real.

Should not say "plaque or" or similar instead of "Acier inox"? That's what I understand from the above quoted buckles' thread by @omegastar

Not necessarily. Depends on who made the buckle and then who plated it, and then what it was plated WITH. Could have been plated after initial sale, for example.

In the thread by @omegastar https://omegaforums.net/threads/about-omega-buckles.37347/

they talk about taking a closer look at the spring bar, can anyone explain how you can you tell by the springbar if the buckle is most likely fake or real?

Also, I like the distinctive look of the Omega logo on this particular buckle, it does not have a "bloated" or "molten" look to it like many fakes do.

The buckle looks like this buckle by the manufacturer MG in the above thread:

only that mine is gold in colour.

OPs buckle is fake as are all of the sellers other Omega offerings and probably much of the rest.

Sellers previous account has been suspended after having been reported (multiple times) for selling fake Omega and other parts. This appears to be a new account listing the same fake parts. I just reported 29 of their listings for fake Omega parts and will be watching them for the expected relisting.

Keep in mind the logo that you like is only correct for certain watches. I know it's not correct on a speedy for example.
