    Hi all...

I've been offered this piece for U$S 5500.
    It's supposed to be a 145.012.
I'm not sure about the bezel without the DON and the TACHYMETRE typography.
I'll have the chance to see the item in person next week. Any advice on what should I be looking for?

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Besides the technical aspects. Do you find it attractive, regardless of the price?

If you can get the serial number off the movement that would help, then you should be able to confirm it's a 145.012

Make sure the case hasn't been polished, that can lower the value.

The price is high without DON bezel and strap (you really want a 1039 with 516 end pieces), those items are very pricey now. Personally I would think you'd get better value from a watch that is sold with them.

As soon as I get better pics I'll post them. And yes, it's a bit pricey considering the lack of bracelete.

Good point. I'm a bit more into watches what are in better shape, better kept over the years.

I think I'll meet with the candidate next week. Then I'll get the movement serial #. And your last line is exactly the same thought that has been hovering over my head for the last few hours.

Thank you all for your input. I know I get better at doing anything just only out of getting advice from the right people ;)

Price is way out of line even if it had the right bezel. The dial will always be ugly or refinished and not original if you try to clean it up.
