Hey all- I, like many, have been on the hunt for an Ed White for some time and finally I found one. I did my research as best I could. Everything seemed to check out so I made a bid I thought was a bit low... and I WON! But now, I want the opinion of the experts (which is maybe backwards, but I couldnt resist). Here she is: Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network http://www.ebay.com/itm/400933848757Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Would love to hear thoughts, especially regarding the originality and authenticity of the piece. Thanks in advance!
Well nothing like asking after the fact. (I do the same, it's just a little late to use that advice!) I often find myself tempering my comments knowing a watch is bought already. This watch has several issues, that if reflected in the price, can be absorbed and corrected to produce a nice wearable watch. My main worry is the look of the watch, for the price. If it was less than the asking then there is a chance it is a good deal. I am encouraged by your comment that you yourself thought the bid a bit low. This is never going to be valued as a condition collectors watch, but it will be valued as a wearable and usable watch. The issues I see are the chrono hand, the engraving, the state of the dial (tired), the overstretched bracelet, tired bezel. On the positive side, I expect the watch, (and dial) will look much better in the metal. The chrono hand can be replaced at service. The engraving should be able to be lasered. The bracelets hardly ever get used. It all depends on price !
I believe one of our members bought this watch like 4 mos. ago. Either that, or the transaction didn't go thru. But this watch definitely sold on ebay a few months ago edit: doesn't show under fast308's history except June 4 and it was before that I'm pretty sure
I remember seeing this Hank one too. Where was it? Here in the FS section? I do recall seeing it also @pitpro.
