Is this beautiful vintage Omega De Ville real or fake?

    Hi,

    I recently purchased an vintage omega de ville watch off ebay, as I was drawn in by the roman numerals. I just wanted to get an opinion if it is authentic:

    According to the listing, it's reference number is 151.0039 which according to the Omega database would put it's date of production around the 1970s.

    I found the same(?) model being sold as spares,

    and a key difference is the "De Ville" lettering, and it seems that the one on mine is markedly differently, and I have a feeling that it is a refinished dial. What do the experts in this forum think? Real, refinished dial, or complete fake?

    Also, how should I go about searching for a replacement stone for the crown or replacing the crown completely? Cheers!

    That's a genuine Omega caliber 711 in a genuine Omega case from what I see. Whether or not the dial is refinished I can't tell you due to unfamiliarity with that model. Probably easier to find a whole new crown instead of just the cabochon.

    Quite real, no issues with that.

    Pretty sure the DE VILLE in script didn't show up until the quartz pieces around 1978/79, so this is likely refinished.

    The dial is correct based on what I see. The case reference does call up a Cal. 711 automatic movement on the Omega Extranet, and these did come with the DeVille dials - there were several variations, and this photo from the Extranet is yours:

    So I think you did well on this one.

    The yellow gold plated crown part number (with Onyx cabachon) is part number 069SX22063 and is still available from Omega. So any watchmaker you take it to for servicing (which I recommend doing) would be able to get one if they have an Omega parts account.
