Hey, I got this watch from my granfather and wondering whether it is the original watch at all. Can't find anything like that. What do you think?

Hi, the movement seems an Omega 12" open face, and if the serial is 4348144 - the date is approximately 1915 or near.

What does the inside of the caseback say?

Movement may be 1915 but dial is not....

Case looks plated, and dial also much more aged than the movement , recased? This movement was used in countless pocket watches.

It's really hard to read, but some symbols I would say M10/5xy but really hard to tell for sure

I think if it were formerly a pocket watch, the seconds sub dial would be opposite the crown.

If it was a Lépine movement it would, but it's a Savonnette (Hunter style).
I think it's a caliber 9''' S 18P, introduced for ladies pocket watches in 1914 (fits in with the serial no)

Obviously re-cased much later with contemporary case/dial/hands.

I appreciate the correction. Shows how much I have to learn!
