    Hi everybody,
I have been looking for a green dial vintage omega for a while now and I came across this one.
I am never sure until an expert tells me what's fake what's not, so I would be pleased to have your opinion on this beauty. Would be thrilled to have your insights on what aspects of the watch makes you say it's fake or real in order to master the art of fake-spotting soon or later. Thanks a lot for your help.

    Seller notes:
    Model: Seamaster, 566.007
Year Of Manufacture : circa 1969
    Movement no 28220156

How much would you price the watch if not a fake one ?

Hi @omegaswisst Thanks a lot for your feedback. The Dutch guy made me laugh.
While they discussed a lot about the price I am not sure anyone approved or disapproved it was a genuine Omega. Or I missed something ?
Do you want me to continue the discussion on the link you sent?

    Thank you so much.
Caliber is said to be 680 by the seller. From the thread you sent I understand it should normally be a 681 caliber, so that part might not be original ? Seller also mentioned that on top of being in excellent conditions the watch was cleaned and serviced, but he did not mentioned any polish.
What you are saying is the watch is not a fake one but has been restored, right ?

The dial has been refinished and the case polished within an inch of its life. Run, do not walk away.

Hahahah. Thanks I will run then. But where to ?
Do you guys have some watches to recommend with this same type of "deep" green dial ?
I am looking everywhere but everything I find is too large for my small wrist which is 45mm large.

Again, thanks again for your feedbacks

When you have 200 posts, you can post a want-to-buy thread in the appropriate place on the forum.

Red jewels were never present on the bezel either.

@omegaswisst Zodiac Sea Wolf looks very good to me and perfectly matches my diving hobby ;)
Do you think there are as many fakes on the market or is it more of a watch that has been forgotten by the crowd and so by fakers.

Seriously, who is making these fakes and where can I contact them to make a bezel for my 566.007? Mine has faded to the point where I'd like to put the original in a drawer for safe keeping.

In regards to the subject watch, the bezel was the only thing that struck me as possibly legit, with a replacement red dot.

Nothing about this watch is fake, only a refinished dial and yes, both dial and bezel were originally offered in green.

The case back engraving seems entirely too thick compared to mine, even accounting for an overenthusiastic polishing wheel.

The best way to avoid buying a fake is to take your time and research the watch you are interested in.

I did an offer earlier at 1200 € but he did not get back. I guess he did not like my price!
Since in the meantime you told me it's not all original as claimed I wonder if someone is really going to buy it for the announced price. Let's see ... I will offer a lot less if he gets back to me.
Maybe at the end I will make a very very very good deal but I doubt...

The seller just got back to me saying my price was unacceptable.
So I asked him if the dial had been painted - he said no - I asked him about the red dot on the bezel - he said it's original.
It's strange since he has 5 stars and many reviews on all pre-owned watch selling websites. Does it mean none does its homeworks before buying on chrono24 and other or what ?

Chrono24 is no safer than eBay.
