Gemini and Cajun are the gurus, trust in what they say.

Like I said you can always take a risk with an extract?
I’m very much a novice, will I need to send the watch away for the extract?

Wrong back perhaps? I’m beginning to think it’s too good to be true and should walk
Perhaps. Or exchanged movement. Or simply an unknown batch of movements assembled later. Have seen that before, but not on this subreference/serial.
Anyway your serial has been seen on several 2913-6's, and the dial and case is very nice, and bezel could be correct besides the relumed pip. So I would request the seller to get an extract...and then it's of course a matter of price in the end.

@Castle4444
I don't know your situation, but I'd be very surprised if the seller will wait for an extract to arrive (they can take several weeks). Even accounting for the non-original handset, there's enough evidence in the pics you've provided for me to believe that you should move forward on purchasing this watch. At this point it boils down to price, as @kox has already mentioned.

Once you submit the request for extract, you may be able to get email or verbal confirmation of the info. I think the wait time is mostly in preparing the fancy paper and getting the signature.

If you submit an online request for an extract and Omega does not have the info, or something is mismatched with the watch, you will receive an e-mail within about 3-4 days saying that your extract order has been cancelled.
If you don't hear anything back within a week, it is safe to assume that all is OK and the extract will be done and sent to you within 6 weeks give or take. (I once had an extract for a Seamaster 300 issued within 8 days...)

I’ve just done the extract myself, hopefully won’t be a long wait

Would most agree if the extract is ok. £13000-15000 would be a realistic price?
The wait for the extract is going to break me!!! Haha!!

possibly, but correct modern replacements are available. I dont think that matters as the crystal is a service item, and you can still find NOS crystals.

I’ve spotted this extract, the serial number is very close and the case back sub reference is 2913-3.

You can't use that in any way confirming your "own" -8.
Serial ranges on the 2913's were not chronological all the way through production. Batches for the US cal 500 productions for instance on some subreferences had later serials than the same subreference with cal 501 etc. as did some productions for other specific market.
You really need the production date to judge if the subreference match the serial. Your 16462x serial is one of the most common 2913 serial ranges, seen in both -4,-5 and-6 subreferences. These were all produced within a year in 1960. Whereas for instance the -3 was produced in both 1958 og 1959.
A -8 subreference typically have a 1668x serial range and was produced first half of 1961.

Just had details over the phone regarding the extract. May 11th 1960 supplied to the U.K. no mention of sub reference but he did say -8 wouldn’t be out the way.
