Is this 2577 Seamaster dial in the FS section a later service replacement?

Redial, not service dial IMO. I wouldn’t think Omega would have a service dial with text that never came on an original - ie just “chronometer” text and spelled “er” rather than “re”.

"er" spelling is more common than you think.

I vote service dial.

Ok, thanks both for the input, very useful. I'm thinking it's not a classic 'redial' as the original would have likely had arrow markers and possibly numbers at 12, 3, 6 and 9. The quality of the dial and lettering are very good. I take the point about the chronometre vs chronometer spelling. I wonder if there was a switch in usage over time? I guess all we can say is that the dial was switched with a decent quality replacement at some point. Still the watch wasn't very expensive, it is the only 'bumper' movement watch I have and it's

nice to have a reasonably rare calibre.

For me, it’s less about the chronometer spelling as it is the fact that only the word “chronometer” is present towards the bottom of the dial. I’ve never seen that on these before - they either had “Chronometre” near the Omega Automatic text or “Officially Certified Chronometre” towards the bottom of the dial. Happy to see other examples though.. and this doesn’t necessarily mean Omega didn’t do weird stuff with their service dials.

Yes, another good point. Just had a look at some examples online and you're right mine is definitely weird. Thanks for the input.
